Common Questions
Real Answers on Cost, Snow, and HOA Rules
What Wasatch Front homeowners ask most before they book an install.
What does permanent lighting cost?
Every install is priced by roofline length, layout, and the features you pick - we do not post a flat rate. Ask about it at your free design consult.
How does permanent outdoor lighting work?
A slim LED track goes up once along your eaves. Each light links to an app, so you get 16 million-plus colors, zone control, music sync, and timers from one system.
Will snow and ice damage permanent lighting?
The housing is sealed and mounts low and tight against the roofline, so it stays put through winter. If a part acts up after a storm, that part gets checked on its own, since the system runs in zones.
Do the lights work through a full Utah winter?
Yes. The housing is sealed and sun-safe, and the LEDs are rated for 50,000-plus hours - not a seasonal decoration that comes inside.
Can it go on a steep roof with deep eaves and heat cable?
In most cases, yes. Steep roofs and deep eaves usually give the track good fascia to mount to, and the crew works around heat cable already in place. We confirm the plan at your free design consult.
Are permanent lights visible during the day?
Not really. The track is color-matched to your trim and sits tight against the eave - most people do not notice it until the lights come on.
Are permanent lights built for hard wind?
Yes. The track mounts low and tight against the roofline, leaving far less for a hard gust to catch than loose string lights.
Do I need to replace bulbs like traditional string lights?
No. There are no bulbs to swap out. The LED track is rated for 50,000-plus hours, so it runs for years with almost no upkeep.
What about HOA rules in communities like Daybreak or Traverse Mountain?
Many newer Salt Lake and Utah County neighborhoods have rules on outdoor fixtures. The track is low-profile and color-matched, so it reads as trim. We can give you install details for an approval request.
Can permanent lighting be used year-round?
Yes. Holiday displays, accent light, game day colors, Pioneer Day red white and blue, and security light all run on the same system.
Does permanent lighting sync with music?
Yes. The app has music sync, so your display can move with the music at a party or holiday get-together.
What happens if a light on my system fails?
Reach out and we will check it and fix it. Since the system runs in zones, a problem in one small spot will not touch the rest of your display.
